Antique 16.5 inch Dolly Madison German China Fashion Lowbrow Composition Doll with Original Dress and Extra Wardrobe / Dollhouse / Victorian

Absolutely beautiful authentic large German China doll from the Victorian Era. She comes with her original powder blue silk dress, with removable pearled collar button accessory around her heck which feels like a micro-corduroy material. There are two layers to this dress: the flat skirt in the front, and underneath a longer tufted skirt.

She also comes with original undergarments, including a white "slip", and pantaloons, which can be pulled down to expose the construction of the body (as shown in the photos).

The painted details on the head and limbs are very precise, and not hastily done. The limbs, especially the legs, have some nice weight to them. This is China, not porcelain, and as a result there is no crazing whatsoever. The condition of this piece is impeccable.

In addition to the stunning dress she wears, which was expertly designed and it shows in every small detail, there is a bonus pink silk dress that will be included with a tiny plastic hanger (not pictured).

The back of the head is marked with a large "5", and nothing else. The body is made of very old linen, and appears to be stuffed with straw possibly.
